Datta Ranpat Dev was famous for justice in Jammu. He always delivered justice to people.
The local Jogis(kark Singers ) sing in praise of Data Ranpat Dev.
There are temples at Data Talab , Birpur .( the residence of Data Ranpant Dev and his ancestors) and Dera of this Diety near the rivulet .
All these places are in Birpur Village at a distance of about 200 mtrs to 300 mtrs. Large number of devotees gather evry Sunday to offer their prayers for the fulfillment of their desires.
Taking bath in the Talab cures particular type of diseases like Laprosy etc.This pilgrim attracts people from different parts of Jammu & Punjab.There is �Bhandara� on every Sunday when the congregation is always over one thousand people

Nai Basti Gulabgarh village came into existence after partition of the country. Hindu population of Gulbgarh migrated to the present location which was named as Nai Basti Gulabgarh by the community that migrated to Indian side.
